'Vettaiyadu Vilaiyadu' is directed by Gautham Menon. He has taken a different plot this time and tried to show Kamal Hasan in
different facets. The film is packed with love and action. Gautham has done a good job in selecting Kamal in the lead. The director
succeeds in presenting a good movie that is well accepted by Kamal's fans.
DCP Raghavan (Kamal Hassan) comes to Madurai to investigate the brutal murder of Rani, daughter of the Chennai city Police
Commissioner Arogya Raj (Prakash Raj). Raghavan and Arogyaraj have a long standing relationship. To overcome their grief,
Arogya Raj and his family go to New York. They later realize that the unapologetic murderer is on their trail. Soon, they too are killed.
Tamil Nadu police entrust Raghavan the job of tracking down the serial killer.
There is a flashback here - Raghavan saves Aradhana (Jyothika) when she attempts suicide due to a failed marriage. On the other
hand, Raghavan is a widower. His wife (Kamalini) was killed in an encounter. Aradhana and Raghavan make a pair. Raghavan takes
the support of Anderson, a New York police officer and sets out to investigate the case. And how did he succeed in catching the
killer, forms the rest of the story.
Performance:
Kamal Hassan has done an excellent job as a cop. His action sequences are good. His chemistry with Jyothika is picturised well.
Jyothika also excels in her performance. She looks beautiful. Kamalini has got a brief role which she played well. Prakash Raj has
proved his talent once again. He suits well for the role he has given in the film. The other did upto the content. Music by Harris
Jayaraj is pleasant. All the songs are good. Story, direction are fine. There are high production values for the film. All the technical
aspects are good.
