Cast: Vishal, Banu, Prabhu, Nadiya Director:Hari Producer:B.Bharathy Reddy Music:Yuvan Shankar Raja

Hari has mixed all the ingredients so well in a smart storyline to get a new flavour. As a director, he is always conscious of his limitations.
Hari and Vishal, the established forces have fused together a good
partnership. It should be said that their combination does create an
impression. And the movie 'Thamarabarani' is well folded with action,
sentiments and nativity. Hari has worked out a crisp mix of
brother-sister sentiment, big family issues and romantic interludes.
The story is centred on Bharani (Vishal). He is a brave, angry young
man, who doesn't mind any one. Vishal and his mother (Rohini) live
with his uncle Saravanan(Prabhu) and his mother (Manorama). It is a
family that is typical to most Tamil movies. The villagers just venerate
this big family. Pitted against them is another big family - PVS
(peopled by Nadhiya, Vijayakumar and Nasser). And then there is an
entry for Banu (Banu). Bharani, loves Banu and in a sense, he has
rights to marry her as Sakunthala (Nadhiya) is the estranged wife of
Saravanan. The two had parted ways over Saravanan's extreme
fondness for his sister (Bharani's mother). It all ends with a
heightened climax as the two young lovers try to bring out peace
between the two families. The blazing and dusty streets, the sword
swishes, the cavalcade of sumo's can be visualized in the
movie.
Performance:
Vishal, who is looking to establish his own tradition in the market has
got a straight extension of what he did in his last three movies through
'Thamarabarani'. Vishal is full of virility and his action sequences are
bravado stuff. The newcomer Banu does what is required of her in a perfect manner. Veterans Prabhu and Nadhiya offer splendid backing to the script. Nasser, Vijayakumar and others did their job diligently. Yuvan, though not in prime form, showed glimpses of his talent. The camera and other technical works are ok. Hari has worked out meticulously and without a doubt, he has succeeded in executing it.
