'Something Something Unakkum Enakkum' is the remake of Telugu block buster 'Nuvvastanante
Nenoddantana' which was directed by actor-choreographer Prabhu Deva. Director Raja has
selected his brother Jeyam Ravi and Trisha to play the main lead in 'Something Something
Unakkum Enakkum'. He succeeds in presenting an interesting story for the audience.
Santosh (Jeyam Ravi) is a young NRI from London who comes to India with his mother (Geetha)
to attend a family wedding. He happens to meet a girl Kavitha (Trisha) in the wedding. They
fall in love. Kavitha's brother Muthu Pandy (Prabhu) hates rich men since his mother was
ditched away by his rich father. Santosh's mother does not approve his relationship with
Kavitha. He leaves his house to reach Kavitha's village. He tries to convince Muthu for
marrying Kavitha, but he refuses. Santosh has to accept a challenge from Muthu. Muthu gives
him a piece of land and asks Santosh to harvest it. And how Santosh finally succeeds in
winning Muthu's heart and unites with Kavitha forms the rest of the story.
Performance:
Jeyam Ravi did the role excellently. The chemistry with Trisha are well shown on the
screen. Trisha, who played the lead in the original version, has convinced even Tamil
audience with her good performance. Prabhu suited well for the character of Trisha's
brother. Geetha's role is fine. The others did upto the content. Music by Devi Sri Prasad
is good. Dialogues and screenplay are interesting. Story and direction are also good. The
other technical aspects are okay.
