Synopsis
: Director Shankar, producer Ravichandran and Hero Vikram are coming together in 'Anniyan'. The films total budget is estimated to be Rs 26 crore. IDBI has funded the film to the tune of Rs 8.50 crores. Sada is the heroine. Prakashraj is the villain.
Shankar describes the film as `different' and terms Vikram as a director's actor. " He shows the same interest like that of a newcomer" is what Shankar says about Vikram. The reason for big budgets is because the extravaganza and grandeur on screen will only bring the public to the theatres. " When home theatres are available then only grandeur on big screen will bring the audience to the theatres" feels Shankar. Shankar said that Harris Jayraj with whom he is working for the first time has given three songs. One of them is about flowers for which they shot in Netherlands and Amsterdam. Manikantan has shot the song with great aesthetic sense. Vairamuthu's lyrics are like pearls was the director's comment. " Anniyan is the character's name. He will be liked as much as you like the grandpa character in Indian.
