'Paerarasu' is directed by a debutant Udhayan. The director has teken a gripping storyline for the film. It is packed with love, sentiment
and action. His selection of team is good. The director is to be applauded for his attempt. Vijaykanth has got a dual role to play. He
satisfies his fans and other audience with his performance.
Kasi Viswanath (Vijayakanth), an upright CBI officer, takes up the challenge of investigating the murderers of a judge (Nassar).
Kuruvaayur Keshavan (Ananth Raj) and an inspector (Pandyarajan) help him. There is also the girl (Damini) who is head over heels on
the CBI man. Viswanath solves the problem. It turns out to be a cartel headed by the evil Minister Ilakiyam (Prakash Raj). Three venal
cops help him. Soon, they are bumped off one after the other. Every one suspects Viswanath to be behind the killings. But later, it
turns out that Viswanath's twin brother, Paerarasu, does it all. He does so because his father (Sarath Babu) was killed by Ilakiyam's
men. So Viswanath is after Perarasu. And does he will be able to catch Perarasu before he kills Ilakiyam, is to be seen on the
screen.
Performance:
Vijaykanth's performance is excellent. He did well both as a CBI officer and as the title role. His action sequences are good. Damini
did well as the girlfriend of CBI officer. Prakash Raj is superb. Pandyarajan and Ananth Raj are alright. Sarath Babu, in a brief role, is
good. Mansoor Ali Khan did well as a baddie. The others did upto the content. Music by Praveen Mani is good. Story, screenplay
are impressive. The other technical aspects are adequate.
