'Muruga' is directed by debutant Nesan. The director has come
out with a new story which is different from the routine one. He is to
be applauded for his sincere attempt to present a film with good
script and screenplay.
Story
Murugan (Ashok) falls in love with Amudha (Sruthi Sharma),
daughter of Vinayaka Murthy (Mahadevan), a big shot. Vinayaka
Murthy comes to know about the relationship and his henchmen
Selvam (Riyaz Khan) throws Murugan and his mother out of their
village. Murugan settles down in Chennai and finds work in a courier
company. There he meets Amudha in a Medical college. Their love
story continues. When Amudha completes her studies and returns to
her village, the preparations are on for her marriage. And does
Murugan succeeds in getting united with his lover forms the rest of
the story.
Performance:
Ashok excels as Murugan. His emotions are interesting. Sruthi
Sharma suits the role of Ashok's ladylove. Mahadevan as a baddie,
is perfect. Riyaz Khan as henchmen Selvam, is good. Vincent
Asokan is adequate. Vadivelu's comedy does not click. Samiksha
gets small role to play. The highlight of the movie is good musical
score by Karthik Raja. A couple of songs regales the audience.
Cinematography by N.Padmesh is good. Screenplay is flawless.
Story and direction is efficient. The other aspects are
okay.
