'Mozhi' is a musical love story directed by Radha Mohan that surrounds four people. The film is produced by Prakash Raj under the banner of Duet Movies. The director has selected an experienced cast and crew for the film. He deserves a praise for his job.
Story
Karthik (Prithviraj) and Vijay (Prakash Raj) are musicians and friends. They play key board and lead a jolly
life in an apartment. Once the secretary of the apartment, Anantharaman (Brahmanandam), pressurize
them to vacate the place. Karthik chances upon Archana (Jyothika) as she takes on a man who bashes his
wife in the middle of the road. Karthik is impressed with her courage.
When the youngsters almost decides to vacate the apartment, Karthik realizes that Archana lives in the
same apartment. She does not respond to Karthik when he tries to converse with her. Karthik soon realizes
that she is deaf and dumb. He gets acquainted with Archana's friend Sheela (Swarnamalya), a widow, and
starts learning sign language from her. With that he starts communicating with Archana. One day Karthik
expresses his love to her, but alas, she does not receive it well saying that her world is different and there is
no place for him there. At this point, Vijay takes a liking for Sheela, who is full of zest for life. And how Karthik
gets united with Archana forms the rest of the story.
Performance:
Prithviraj has performed well as a friend and a kind man. Jyothika steals the show. She lives in her character as Archana. Prakash Raj provides rib tickling humour and does well as a loving friend. Swarnamalya suits the role of Sheela. She has done her does her role with ease. Brahmanandam does a good job as the secretary of the apartment. M.S.Bhaskar excels as the professor. Music by Vidyasagar is pleasant. All the songs are beautiful on screen. Dialogues by Viji are of first-rate. Cinematography and editing are excellent. Story is interesting. Screenplay is catchy. Direction is neat. The film has high production values.
