'Kireedom' is directed by a debutante director, A.L.Vijay. The film is inspired by a
blockbuster Malayalam film of late 80s, of same title, starring Mohan Lal. The latest
version is an action based family entertainer well packed with necessary ingredients to
attract Ajith's fans. The director deserves a praise for his work.
Story:
Rajarajan (Rajkiran) is a head constable posted at a Tiruchi police station. He has a large
family of a lovng wife (Saranya), two daughters and two sons. His eldest son Sakthivel
(Ajith) is waiting for his selection to the police force. Sakthivel meets Divya (Trisha) a
college student. After a few comic incidents, they fall in love. Both the families agree for
the marriage but certain events make Rajarajan get transfered to Kodaikal, a town ruled by a
gangster Varadarajan (Ajay). There he finds that the local Sub Inspector (Ravi Kala) is
brutally beaten up by Varadan, and the cops have not filed a case. Now the trouble starts
for Rajarajan and his son Sakthivel. On the day he gets selected as an SI, something
untoward happens. This changes the course of their life.
Performances:
Both Rajkiran and Ajith have stolen the show with their father-son relationship. 'Kireedom'
showcases Ajith as never before. He looks simple and handsome and on screen. Rajkiran
proves his talent yet again. Trisha looks gorgeous and does her role with an ease. The
chemistry between Ajith and Trisha is good. Saranya is fine. Vivek is alright. Ajay does
well as a baddie. Ravi Kala is okay. Music by G.V.Prakash is good. All the songs are
picturised well. Cinematography is fine. Dialogues are catchy. The script and its narration
are good. The film has high production values.
