I just love films and films alone

What is your opinion on 'Boys'?
Shankar made it in an interesting manner to attract the youth. I don't need to explain you about AR Rehman's music. I am very happy that I had the opportunity to work with such good technicians. The film is getting good response both in Telugu as well as Tamil languages. No doubt the film reflects the mentalities of the present day youth. It is just a resemblance on the screen of the chivalrous activities of the youth of the current generation. I just don't treat a film. Moreover, the costumes which I used in the film are suited to the current trend. I did not give scope for indecency in my character at any given time. That character is also very near to my routine life. I am very happy that the film was made a hit by the audiences.

Which song do you like most in 'Boys'?
I liked all the songs in the film. But the credit goes to 'Saregame' song. Music takes the lion's share in making the film a success.

Tell us about your family?
None of my family members are related to the film industry. I have father, mother and a brother. Both my parents are employed and brother is doing his post-graduation. Our native place is Mumbai. Whatever decision I take about my life, is final and there will be no intervention from any of my family members. I am enjoying complete cooperation from all my family members and I am thankful to them for this. In fact, I am more interested in sports and games rather than acting.

How did you get an opportunity in films?
After looking the Ads in which I performed, director Vijayabhaskar gave me an opportunity to play heroine in 'Tujhe Meri Kasam'. While the film is still on sets, I got a call from Shankar. He conducted a screen test and selected me for his film 'Boys'. Though I did not get much recognition from my debut film, I achieved it with 'Boys'. Presently I am pairing up with Sumanth for 'Satyam' by Annapurna Studios.

  Did you take training in acting?
No, not especially. I learnt a lot by watching the TV channels and films and understood how to behave in such particular occasions. Every human being is an artiste by nature. The roles I played so far did not need any training in acting. I was able to escape from the 'stage fear' as I appeared before the camera with a great artiste like Amitabh Bachchan for my first Ad film.

  What kind of roles do you prefer?
I have no preference in choosing the characters. My intention is to earn name as a good performer and as a good artiste. I accept any kind of role that suits my age and which had good scope to perform. My role should have its own identity in the film. It should have at least four or five scenes in which the audiences could watch the real artiste in me. My selection will depend on the subject, my character, director and producer. We just don't get image as and when we demand. It depends on the kind of roles we play and how the audiences had received it. As far as me, I would like to play different roles.

  Do you have any dream roles?
No. Every role I play is my dream role. I have no specific interest to do a particular kind of role.

   What is your opinion on exposing?
In my opinion, there is nothing specific called exposing. There is nothing wrong in wearing costumes that suits the role. At the same time, the roles should be natural. I don't think showing performance in consonance with the role and subject is not a wrong preposition.

  Did you ever fall in love?
Hope you are asking this question on watching my character falling in love with a boy in 'Boys'. In fact, I will be quite reserved in my normal life. But I will move freely with my relatives, friends and well-wishers. I played a similar kind of role. Love is just an experience. It could be explained only by those who really enjoyed it. For me, I would like to be a 21 year old girl. Girls like me can't explain what is love. Presently, I just love films and films alone.

  What are the projects on hand now?
Though there are several offers from the Telugu film industry, I accepted only one film so far, i.e., on the banner of Annapurna Studios. A film by noted producer A M Ratnam, another film with Nithin as hero are in the stage of discussions and not confirmed so far. Two more offers are still there. Playing in a Hindi film 'Masti' starring Ajay Devgan and Vivek Oberoi.

  Who are your favourite artistes?
Sharukh Khan and Kajol

  What kind of dresses you like most?
I like modern dresses. Mostly I wear Jeans and T Shirts. Whenever I attend any function, I prefer Salwar Kameez.

  What are your experiences in your debut film 'Tujhe Meri Kasam'?
Naturally, any artiste will have a kind of tension and fear while facing the camera for the first time. I too faced such embarrassing situations once or twice. Those incidents are quite memorable throughout my film career.

  What are your hobbies?
Watching films and listening to songs.

  When is your birthday?
August 05.

  Tell us something about your college days?
Everyone will enjoy college life. It is unmemorable. My college education could not pose any problem for my modelling or acting. I enjoyed my college life as every other.

  What is the opinion of your relatives on your films?
My family members, relatives and friends watched both the films in which I performed. As I told you, none of our family members have any relationship with the film industry. So they all feel very happy for watching me on the screen. At the same time, I will take into cognisance their suggestions regarding acting.
