'Indralogathil Na Azhagappan' is written and directed by Thambi Ramaiah who has penned many comedy tracks to Vadivelu. The
film is all about a human being making merry in the heavenly world. This is Vadivelu's second flick as hero after 'Imsai
Arasan 23m Pulikesi'. There is nothing special to offer in 'Indralogathil Na Azhagappan' except for Vadivelu's three
different roles.
Azhagappan (Vadivelu) is an actor in a theatre group. He stumbles upon heavenly beings who have come to the earth for a
sojourn. Only Rambha (Suja), the gorgeous celestial dancing beauty, stays back and gets into trouble. Azhagappan helps her to
go back to the heaven. Consequently, Rambha grants him a boon to fulfill his desire - to visit Indralogam and Yamalogam. He
travels through Indralogam and meets Indra (Vadivelu). In Yamalogam, he witnesses a child's death and dares to question the
procedures in Yamalogam and the harsh treatment given to individuals who are admitted to hell. He interferes with Yama's
(Vadivelu again) orders desperately, trying to tone them down. The gods get anger and Azhagappan pays the price. Comedy turns
into tragedy, as he is in for a big trouble. What follows next is a predictable climax.
Performances: Vadivelu has lived in all the three roles. As Azhagappan, he portrays an ordinary individual. As
Indra, he scores with his expressions. As Yama, he appears completely transformed. His body language suits him well both as
Yama and Azhagappan. Nasser's role as Narada is good. Heroines Suja, Theetha Sharma and Rari have done their best. Shriya
appears in a brief role but excels. Her dance-number with Vadivelu does the magic. Music by Sabesh Murali is fine.
Cinematography by Gopinath is good. Thotta Tharani's art work stands out. Climax sequences could be better. Story and
direction are alright.
