'Ayutham' by Prashanth is an action packed romantic movie. It is a typical movie with action , songs and sentiments, With Prashanth flexing his muscles and Sneha providing more glamour than usual, Ayutham is certainly a film for the masses.After a relatively sedate start the movie takes to top gear towards interval. Though the movie has shades of Jeyam and Ghilli, yet the swift screenplay makes it engrossing.

Story
Siva (Prashanth), a medical college student, is an angry young man who is never afraid to question evils in the society. He comes across Maha (Sneha), a Brahmin girl, a student of his college and it turns out to be love at first sight. For Maha, the problem lies in the form of Naga (Subburaj). Son of her servant maid, Naga is sent to a reformatory school at his young age. But he manages to escape from the school only to join hands with a local dadha Velu (Janakaraj). When he grows up, he expresses his desire to marry Maha. He even threatens to bump off her family if she does not yield to his desire. Enters Siva. The rest is all but a clash between Siva and Naga. Naga with his political influence tries to put Siva behind bars but all plans of Naga are thwarted.
Music
Dhina's music is a major let down. The title music is noise galore and so is the re-recording. The dialogue that comes with the titles gets drowned in the din.

Performance
Prashanth is too experienced an actor to goof up the role. He plays Siva with ease. And as always he is more at home in action. Sneha makes proper use of the couple of scenes that offer her a little scope to perform. But needs watch her weight. Mansur Ali Khan is a stereotype. Vadivelu has to be commended for rising above the usual and making the character of the petty thief Thangapandi enjoyable. Susan who takes care of the glamour is a surprise
