Director Major Ravi has come back with an interesting plot for his venture 'Aran'. Jammu And Kashmir forms the backdrop of the film. The director needs to be applauded for his attempt to present a good movie that attracts the audience.
Major Mahadevan (Mohanlal) is a Commando in the Border Security Force (BSF). He is a man
of extraordinary mettle and wit, and can organize attacks and woo victory in even the most
perilous situations. Jaikumar (Jeeva) is the foreman in Major Mahadevan’s battalion. He
executes the Major’s plans and wins his trust and confidence.
Jai leaves on a wedding vacation to his hometown, to get married to his fiancee Sandhya
(Gopika). At the same time terrorists plan to strike at the famous Hazrathbal Shrine in Jammu
and Kashmir. Major Mahadevan, is left with no option but to call Jai to the battle-front, Jai
leaves his wife and returns to Kashmir. The duo together thwart the destructive attempts of the terrorists and save the local people. But the terrorists plan an attack and enter into the house of Kashmiri family. They torture everyone in the house and hold them hostage. The rest of the story is about how Major Mahadevan and Jai rescue the family and foil the evil plots of the terrorists.
Performance:
Ravi deserves credit for shooting in the sensitive areas of Kashmir and also a few scenes in LOC
and Afghanistan too. He conveys a strong message to fight terrorism unitedly. As Major Mahadevan, Mohanlal is a perfect fit. His body language and his expressions are the major highlights. Jeeva as the honest Havildar impresses. Gopika fitted the role. Music by Jashua Sridhar is good. The other technical aspects are also good.
Verdict: Average. | |
