| Udhayageetha Cine Creations who had produced ‘Azhagy’ also produced ‘Anbu’. But ‘Anbu’ has turned out to be a disappointing fare. For the first half the story moves fairly smoothly, without much flaws. But then the narration dries out. Coming to story, Anbu (Bala) the son of an influential politician falls in love with Veena (Deepu). Anbu’s caste-conscious father learns of his son’s affair with a girl from a different caste and packs off his son abroad. His intimidation and threats force Veena’s widowed mother to get Veena married elsewhere. Anbu returns, his heart broken, and in a bid to re-claim his beloved, rushes to Ooty where the newly weds have gone on their honeymoon. Bala performs his role with confidence. Deepu needs to improve her acting skills. Debutant Adithya as Deepu's husband did well. Vadivelu's comedy is good and steals the show. Music is good. |
