'Alagesan', in comparison to Kalabhavan Mani’s performance in the original Malayalam Karumadikuttan, Satyaraj hams and is a miscast in Alagesan directed by Aarthi Kumar. No two ways about it, the film is an unmitigated endurance test for the audience.

Story
Alagesan (Satyaraj) is a 30-year old (!!) dullard with a mental growth of a 9-year-old kid. He is innocent like a child and is also an orphan living with his foster grandmother (Manorama). Everyone in the village loves him as he does all odd jobs for them without taking any money. The village is terrorized by Neelakandan (Ramraj) and his wayward son (Manoj K.Jayan). Alagesan is madly infatuated by Nandhini (Prema) who is in love with her colleague at college. But Manoj K.Jayan rapes her and she becomes pregnant. When her lover and the entire villagers turn against her, Alagesan takes responsibility and brings her home. Slowly with the loving care of Nandhini he turns responsible and courageous as he takes revenge on the baddies.
Music
Deva repeats his old tunes.

Performance
Satyaraj as Alagesan is too loud and hams throughout. Ramraj the villain of Pitamagan repeats the same role and Manoj.K.Jayan is wasted in an insignificant role.
