'Aei' is every inch a Sarath Kumar film wherein he has acted in the lead, sung a song and also shown his biceps. Cameraman Venkatesh and stunt master Super Subbarayan have handled it in a subtle way. A. Venkatesh who is also responsible for the story, screenplay and direction has made the film interesting with his gripping narration.

Story
Sakthivel (Sarath Kumar) a military officer returns to his friend's place in Tamil Nadu and sees how bribe has become rampant in the police department. As he is not able to control it as an individual he takes the help of his friend Mani who is also a policeman. The main villain is Kotta Srinivasarao who is waiting to take revenge on Sakthivel, who maimed him (Sakthivel shot a bullet each through a leg and an arm ). Vadivelu takes care of the first half while stunts and the macho aspect of Sarath Kumar take care of the second half.
Music
Srikanth Deva's music is ipressive. 'Ajina' and 'Miyuav' are the pick of the lot.

Performance
The role is tailormade for Sarath Kumar. His stunts, body language and emotions are perfect. Next to Sarath Kumar it is Namita who takes more frames but only in some love scenes and in songs. Vadivelu is his usual best. Vijayakumar, DGP, is the only person shown as a clean officer who helps the hero. Ashish Vidyarthi as the DSP Easwera Pandian fits the role neatly. Kalabavan Mani has done a good job. Mumtaz appears in a dance.
