'4 Students' is the Tamil version of 4 The People, which created waves in Kerala for its music and youthful approach.
Jayaraj who has given 22 films in Malayalam has cleverly adopted the Tamil style of story telling and clearly wrapped the film as one that tells about young revolutionaries. Though the film starts with a serious tone it later on boils down to song and dance. The major plus points of the film are R D Rajashekhar's excellent camera work, Antony's slick editing and of course Jassie Gift's extraordinary music. Gokulakrishna’s dialogues add to the entertainment value.
Story
'4 Students' tells the story of four friends, who stand against the corruption and injustice in the society. Arun, Bharath, Arjun and Padma Kumar who turn vigilante in their fight against corruption. They open a website and ask the public to mail them about their grievances and problems. They shortlist the person with maximum complaints and track him down and punish him by chopping their hands or fingers. Their target includes a corrupt doctor, a government sales tax officer and a local goonda. Sunil is the police officer appointed to capture the students. Pranathi, a co student and sister of Sunil befriends the four students. Gopika is the love interest of Bharath.
Music Music by Jassie is excellent.
Performance All the artistes have done their part well. The 4 Students play their role with conviction. Familiar to Tamil audiences are 'Boys' Bharat, 'Autograph' Gopika, and 'Gambheeram' Pranathi who have done their parts well, with Sunil as the supercop. Taarika appears in a single dance number.
